Nice job Steve! A jazz gig w/class. You guys looked like you were having fun and I enjoyed the "Holmes Holler" after several tunes..."Yeah!"

It's so great to see cats lay it down and not take themselves too serious. I was blown away at the development of that area. Amazing. I remember when it was a dirt lot. [img]eek.gif[/img]

What was so great about that gig is I saw several formaer students who were exposed to jazz music they would never have seen. That place seemed like Main Street at Disneyland. A lot of young kids just hangin' and listening to jazz. I don't know if you caught the crowd of guys outside the side door glued to the playing.

Well thanks for coming out.
I like that gig because despite the venue we can stretch a bit and not worry too much about volume.
You should have stayed for the second set, that's when we really got started! [img]wink.gif[/img]

Sorry 'bout that...my buddy's wife had to pick us up...found out a gal I knew was sleeping in the back study for a law exam. She stayed until close and mentioned the volume increased. You guys started out so soft and right before I left, 9:40, the volume was pumping. Does the cafe ever give you a thumbs down? That horn playersounded good. Maybe it's because the horn cuts through and is so clear...the guitar was the hardest to hear. Do you ever record yourself? Hello mini-disc player! That's why I need to get one BAD.

Since I'm not terribly Quicktime savvy, could some of you download this Quicktime version of the video and post if it works or not? I was getting a lot of email from Mac users who could hear the vid, but not see it.
